Do Free Staters who get involved/run 4 office get backlash..
from native New Hampshirites? In the same vein are the ideas of liberty being shortchanged amongst natives in any way by being associated with "carpetbaggers"? Do you know of any examples of previously apathetic or non-libertarian New Hampshirites that are now libertarian or more liberty oriented than previously?

To answer your second and third questions:
I don't see the ideas of liberty being 'shortchanged' here from negative associations. One of the reasons we chose New Hampshire was for it's pre-existing pro-liberty climate (as reflected by its state motto, "Live Free or Die.") Here, the Republicans are almost libertarian, and even Democrats own guns. The philosophy of individualism is alive and well in New Hampshire, but it is of course under attack just as in the rest of the country. The difference is that we have a strong community of dedicated, successful activists working to advance freedom, a community that's growing every day. New people are being reached every day by our message due to the efforts of Free Staters who have created their own media, such as internationally syndicated radio show/podcast Free Talk Live ( http://freetalklive.com ), television programs like Free Minds TV ( freemindsmedia.org/ ) and Capitol Access ( http://nhcaptv.com/ ), newspapers like the New Hampshire Free Press ( http://newhampshirefreepress.com/ ), videographers like the Ridley Report ( http://ridleyreport.com ) and the Obscured Truth Network ( http://obscuredtruth.com ), and numerous blogs, podcasts, and youtube channels. New Hampshire is truly the pro-liberty media capital of the world.

There are a number of non-Free Stater state reps that tell us in private, "Thank God you guys are here!" Also, natives & movers have created an organization, the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, whose tireless volunteers read *every single* bill that goes before the state houses, determine if they're constitutional and whether they're pro- or anti-liberty, then mobilize activists to testify and rally for or against the bills. They also rank every legislator in a scorecard based on their votes, and endorse those that deserve it. I believe such an endorsement should be highly sought, since it entails dedicated activists working for one's campaign.

Not generally. 6 of our members are elected NH state reps and around 20 have gotten elected to local offices. Almost all of those are open about their status as free staters.
