Cut, Cap & Balance is three things. It's too complicated and raises too many side issues. Putting tax cuts on the table means the Dems get to inject tax increases into the negotiation. Spending caps are silly, because this congress can't bind future congresses.

The president wants one thing - raise the debt-limit. The GoP should ask for only one thing too - tie the Balanced Budget Amendment to raising the debt-limit. One for one. Simple, understandable, reasonable.

Lowering the value of dollars is good for U.S. businesses, because lower cost goods (produced and sold in dollars) can more easily compete overseas. It helps the balance of trade, while helping the government at the same time.

Fair enough. Any average smart investor could see what the Fed/gov't was doing years ago to counter China's low-Yuan policy. The natural and correct investment was commodities. Average Americans are mainly in retirement accounts and retirement accounts don't allow direct commodity investment. Instead relegated to secondary mutual fund markets, such as "gold funds" and "gold mining funds." This is exactly the position I (and many others) find themselves.

Despite the market price of gold going up from $500 (2005) to $1500 today, the gold mutual funds have actually lost money. This is only possible through Wall Street fraud and ripoffs. As usual, Wall Street hogs the winning investments for themselves and steals from Joe Average on what was otherwise perfect market timing and execution.

We need some accountability Judge. This entire system is corrupt, from Wall Street to the bankers, to the Fed, to the over-lobbied Congress. Please propose some systemic changes to level the playing field for Joe Average?

The answer is no, no and heck no. Deflation happens when tomorrows goods cost less than today's goods. Suppliers quickly decide that hoarding cash is better than producing product, because the cash will be worth more tomorrow and the product worth less. They all do it together (within days of each other) and they shut down their factories just as quickly. This "non-linear" event is catastrophic and irreversible. Fifty percent national unemployment within a week is possible. This is why deflation must be prevented. So please stop asking the question on national TV, Judge?
