Please put the spotlight on these corrupt officials who are using our own tax dollars to fight us in court. I know this is the way it works, but after they lost why don't they just do what is right.

After 3 Nevada Supreme Court Rulings over an 8 year period, Washoe County and the State (Nevada) still refuse to refund property taxes that were illegally collected.

Shining a bright light on the behavior of petty bureaucrats and politicians who abuse their authority is the best way to educate the public about the dangers of a runaway government, and the shocking activity of Washoe County is an excellent example that people should be made aware of.

I wish Incline would just be annexed into California. It would save the rest of us Nevadan's a lot of tax money that could be spent on useful projects. Nevadan's stand up and exile Incline Village!

The arrogance displayed by our DA, County Treasurer and State of Nevada in continuing to defy the Supreme Court is unbelievable. -

Washoe County and the State of Nevada did not have a rigid, set, approved guideline for assessing property taxes. So of course they assessed them at a higher rate... more from the taxpayer and more into the government coffer. Now after the taxpayers have won legal battles in court again and again - SURPRISE - the government will not give the money back.

Absurd how local officials can defy all courts and legal rulings, continuing to "do their own thing" and resist corrective actions. Looks like the only option is the polling place to dump these guys.

The old political game, that a small segment of a community is super rich ergo all the residents are in that category! Many of the Incline Village/Chrystal Bay property owners are elderly retired past working people. The political game of pitting the poor masses against the supposedly elite rich minrity is always a wise guy tactic by cunning politicos! The politicians make laws for the people but never obey the laws themselves! The age old adage of, 'do as I say not as I do".

Is Senate Majority leader Harry Reid for the middle class? Middle class families have been forced to leave our small town near Lake Tahoe due to targeted illegal property taxation. Nevada state courts have ruled in favor of the people 3 times over the past eight years, yet Washoe County District Attorney Dick Gammick has refused all due refunds. This is the same county in which Sharon Angle suffered a very surprising defeat in this month's election against Harry Reid. Should be very interesting to trace the thick web of corruption that has accumulated after many years of undisrupted power.

A lawyer Reprents ourJustice system. They are officers of the court. How can we respect the Laws when a D.A. (a Lawyer) does not ? Our wonderful Country is on a decline and Lawyers are doing us in.

It is not only the money due back to the tax payers who were over assessed and over paid their property taxes. It is also about the money we have spent to sue the County. They continue to spend our tax dollars to fight back even though they have lost every court case. We should not only get our taxes refunded, we should have our attorney fees refunded. When will this end?

Pretty sad Washoe County violated tax laws and continues to defy a court order. Too many longtime honest people have been forced to leave our community.

After 8 years of court rulings in favor of the residents of Incline Village, the State of Nevada continues to defy the Nevada Supreme Court 's decision that the taxes were collected at an illegal level.

We have been fighting our local government for over 8 years on illegally collected property taxes and still they refuse to return the overpaid property taxes as ruled by the Nevada Supreme Court and District Courts.
What makes them think that they are above the law?
