I'd like the panel to discuss ...

National Sales Tax- REPLACE IRS

A bill writen by private citizens (HR25/S296) that REPLACES ALL FEDERAL TAXES with one transparent consumption tax. You take home ALL your pay with no withholding or F.I.C.A., and you never have to file any forms. You get rebated in cash upfront the amount of tax paid on essential goods, instead of an endless list of deductions which Congressmen sell off for campaign donations (corruption at your expense) and since corporations pay no tax, prices fall and jobs blossom! Education, investment, and used goods are tax free. It SUPERCHARGES the USA economy while transfering power from Washington back to the people. Later, WE decide on what tax rate we want, and who gets a free ride because when EVERYONE pays tax, we all pay less and can see exactly where and how the government is using it. Best of all, the 16th Amendment is gone and the IRS is toast! Pay once and forget it, needing to keep no records or answer to anyone about your financial business. It is the MOST EFFICIENT way to run government.

        Bad Idea
        1) They won't remove the income tax.
        2) They will want to tax used stuff in the end.
        3) The extremely wealthy will be paying practically NO tax.
        4) What we need is import duties and a tax on stock transactions.
This would bring jobs back and reward REAL work. The first 100 years they fed was run on import taxes. Quit giving away money to other nations

Free the Slaves! Let us escape Uncle Sam's Plantation
If the gummit has the right to take a penny from you, it has the right to take everything from you.

So what's the problem? Abolish Tax Slavery!
        Pass HR-25, the FairTax!

Abolish the IRS and Replace it with NOTHING. No flat tax, or fair tax. No extra tax was in effect between 1776 and 1942. Why do we need this tax now. Why do we need to go from the fire to the frying pan and just get another tax that would violate our rights to our labor? Taxes need to be collected acording to article l sec. 8. the way they were intended at the beginng. Read here http://www.devvy.com/notax.html

The fastest and longest lasting impetus for the American Economy would be enacting the FairTax, H.R.25, followed by repeal of the 16th amendment.

There is no other proposal which would:

        * Jump Start Investment in America

        * Produce an immediate improvement on our balance of trade, and foreign debt trends

        * Motivate individuals to focus on the rewards of producing goods and services, and away from avoiding government penalties for success.

        * Replace burdens of IRS compliance with the free market unleashing of Yankee Ingenuity.

        * Protect the basic necessities from taxation.

The tax code we have now is akin to a street with thousands of potholes, patches, bumps, toll gates and detours.

All of the other tax proposals to simplify the current code are merely temporary patches and more detours.

Comparatively, the FairTax is a superhighway to liberty, competitiveness and prosperity. More importantly, it redirects congressional activity to spending issues, and puts brighter light on the fallacies of the nanny state.

I request that you include the experts on your program to explore how this strategy would contribute to libertarian ideals you foster. Please consider former congressman John Linder, talk show host Neal Boortz, and others they suggest.

        Google hr25, and/or visit fairtax.org for details.

If we'd have passed the FairTax ten years ago we might have avoided a lot of the fiscal grief we find ourselves in today. This is the only tax reform measure that makes sense. I have been looking at it for several years and the cynics tell me it's a great idea but it will never happen. I'm an American. Don't tell me it can't be done.

It appears to me that the Congress and white house are suffering from Cranial Rectal Inclusion. Then are those supposed representatives of the people going to take the IRS and the thousands of pages of socialist crap, along with their K Street cohorts and flush the toilet. It seems like the reprenentatives realy don't know beans about the tax code, but depend on their "Tax Aids" (non elected and bought off) to do their thinking for them!

The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S296) dovetails with the limited government principles the founding fathers instilled in the Constitution. The Fair Tax will fundamentally shift power away from the federal government and to the people by allowing the latter to decide when they are taxed based on when they choose to make a purchase instead of the former taking our hard earned wealth before we see our paychecks or dividend checks and abolishing the increasingly intrusive IRS. The Federal income tax code is beyond repair. No amount of tinkering will fix it.

Get rid of the income tax and replace it with the Fair Tax. Our present system is broken and this is the best alternative out there. Make April 15th just another spring day and never have to keep all those receipts again.

It is beyond my pay grade why there are not more sponsors for the FairTax, the only sensible approach to our current tax quandry. Cannot add more to the discussion because it has all been said.

Replacing the present tax system with the FairTax is the single most effective thing that can be done to stimulate the economy, create jobs, restore the capital supply, eliminate unfairness in the tax system and much more. Check how and why at fairtax.org.

Pass the FairTax Act! There is no more important matter before our country at this time.

We have waited a long time for a nation to finally discover that our broken income tax system can be replaced by a well reserched system described by HR25 and S296.
